We are not just a factory. We are a team of craftsmen, designers, and export professionals committed to delivering furniture that lasts a lifetime.

— Who We Are

A Family Business Built on Wood and Trust

Apta Living is a premium furniture manufacturer and direct exporter operating under CV Patra Surya Gentala, registered and headquartered in Jepara, Central Java — widely regarded as Indonesia's furniture capital and one of the world's most important centers for solid wood craftsmanship.

The company was founded in 2015 by a family with roots deeply embedded in Jepara's woodworking community. What began as a small workshop with a handful of craftsmen has grown into a 3,000 sqm modern production facility employing over 120 skilled artisans, administrative staff, and export professionals. The same family values of honesty, craftsmanship, and long-term relationships still guide every decision we make today.

We manufacture and export solid teak, mahogany, and reclaimed wood furniture for wholesale buyers, interior design firms, hospitality developers, and global retailers. Our customers span over 20 countries across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. Many have been ordering from us for 5 to 10 years — a testament not just to our product quality, but to the trust and transparency that defines our partnerships.

Unlike many factories that rely on trading intermediaries, Apta Living is a direct factory exporter. Every buyer communicates with our own team, sees our own production floor, and receives documentation directly from us — no layers, no surprises.

— Our Journey

From a Small Workshop to a Global Exporter

Every milestone below represents years of hard work, honest relationships, and a relentless commitment to improving our craft. This is not just our company history — it is the story of the Jepara woodworking tradition carried into the modern world.

2015

The Beginning — A Workshop with a Vision

Indra Hendrawan, a second-generation woodworker from Jepara, establishes CV Patra Surya Gentala with a team of 12 craftsmen and a 400 sqm workshop. The vision from day one: produce furniture of export quality, sell directly to international buyers without middlemen, and pay fair wages to skilled artisans who deserve recognition for their craft.

2017

First International Export — Australia & the Netherlands

After two years of domestic sales and small-batch export trials, Apta Living secures its first significant international wholesale orders from buyers in Melbourne, Australia and Rotterdam, Netherlands. The first container of teak dining sets leaves Semarang Port — a milestone that proves the market exists and that Jepara quality can compete on the world stage. Both buyers are still ordering from us today.

2018

Facility Expansion — Scaling Without Compromise

Growing demand from European and Australian buyers prompts the first major facility expansion, bringing production area to 1,500 sqm and the workforce to 60 artisans. A dedicated quality control team is established — the first in Apta Living's history — with a formal 12-point inspection protocol that remains in use today. New equipment is installed including a dust-free finishing chamber and kiln-drying room capable of handling 50 cubic meters of timber per cycle.

2018-2019

SVL-K Timber Legality Certification

Apta Living becomes one of the first furniture manufacturers in Jepara to obtain SVL-K (Sistem Verifikasi Legalitas Kayu) certification — Indonesia's national legal timber verification system. This certification demonstrates that every piece of wood in our facility is legally sourced, traceable to its origin, and compliant with international environmental regulations including the EU Timber Regulation and the US Lacey Act. For our international buyers, this removes the risk and paperwork burden of timber compliance.
SVL-K Certified · EUTR & Lacey Act Compliant

2019

Custom OEM Program Launched — The Design Partnership Model

Responding to requests from interior designers and hospitality buyers who wanted furniture made to their exact specifications, Apta Living launches a formal OEM and ODM design service. An in-house design team is hired, and a 3D rendering workflow is established that allows buyers to see and approve their custom furniture before production begins. Within the first year, 40% of revenue comes from custom orders. Today, that figure stands at over 60%.

2020

Second Major Expansion — 3,000 sqm Facility & 100+ Artisans

A second land acquisition doubles the production footprint to 3,000 sqm. The workforce crosses 100 skilled artisans for the first time. A dedicated export administration team is established to handle the growing volume of international documentation, freight coordination, and buyer communications. Export reach expands to 15 countries, including the UAE, Japan, Singapore, France, and Canada.

2020-2021

EUDR Readiness & Compliance Infrastructure

Ahead of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) taking effect, Apta Living invests in compliance infrastructure — upgrading supply chain documentation, establishing GPS-traceable timber sourcing records, and engaging an international compliance consultant to audit our operations. We become one of the few Indonesian furniture exporters fully prepared for EUDR before its enforcement date, giving European buyers complete peace of mind.

—  What We Stand For

The Values That Drive
Everything We Do

These are not slogans on a wall. These are the principles that guide every decision — from how we source timber, to how we pack a container, to how we respond to a buyer complaint.

01

Craftsmanship Without Shortcuts

Every joint is hand-fitted. Every surface is hand-sanded through multiple grits. Every piece passes a 12-point inspection before it leaves our floor. We believe that the person sleeping on our bed or sitting at our table deserves furniture that will last their lifetime — not just their warranty period.

02

Radical Transparency

We show buyers our factory on video. We share production photos weekly. We tell buyers honestly if a timeline will be missed — and we tell them before they have to ask. We believe that honesty, even when inconvenient, is the foundation of a business relationship that lasts for years.

03

Responsibility to the Forest

Jepara's identity is inseparable from the forests that supply its timber. We have a responsibility to protect those forests for the generations of craftsmen who will follow us. Every plank in our facility is legally verified, traceable, and compliant — not because the law requires it, but because it is the right thing to do.

04

Fair Treatment of Our People

Our artisans are not anonymous factory workers. They are highly skilled professionals, many of whom have been with us for over a decade. We pay above-market wages, provide health insurance, offer skills training, and maintain a safe and respectful workplace. When our people thrive, our furniture improves.

05

Partnership, Not Transaction

We are not interested in one-time orders. We want buyers who grow with us over years — and we invest in those relationships. We offer better pricing for loyal partners, priority production scheduling for repeat buyers, and dedicated account management for clients who have been with us for multiple seasons.

06

Continuous Improvement

We visit international furniture fairs. We study design trends. We invest in machinery that improves precision and reduces waste. We are a traditional craft company that is not afraid of modernization — because the best furniture combines centuries of woodworking knowledge with the best tools available today.
— Our Facility

Built to Produce at International Standards

Our production facility is not the largest in Jepara — but it is one of the most organized, well-maintained, and quality-focused. Every investment we make is designed to improve the consistency and quality of our output.

— The People Behind Apta Living

120+ People, One Team

Behind every container that leaves our factory is a team of people who care deeply about what they build. Our craftsmen average 8 years of experience at Apta Living — in an industry where turnover is common, that kind of loyalty speaks to the culture we have built.

We invest heavily in our people: structured apprenticeship programs for new artisans, regular skills workshops, fair wages above Jepara's industry average, full health insurance, and a workplace where every person — from our senior master craftsman to our youngest apprentice — is treated with respect.

Our export and design team consists of English-speaking professionals who have worked in the furniture export industry for years. When you email us, you speak to someone who understands your market, your compliance requirements, and your timeline pressures — not just someone who processes orders.

— Compliance & Certifications

Buying with Confidence — Every Document Ready

We understand that importing furniture from overseas involves compliance risks. That is why we have invested in full certification and documentation infrastructure — so your import process is straightforward, regardless of your country's timber import regulations.

SVL-K Certified

Indonesia's national legal timber verification system. Certifies that all timber in our facility is legally sourced, traceable to origin, and compliant with national and international regulations. Issued since 2015 with annual renewal audits.

EUDR Compliant

Fully prepared for the EU Deforestation Regulation. Our supply chain documentation includes GPS-traceable timber sourcing records, land legality verification, and operator due diligence reports — everything EU importers need for compliance.

ISPM-15 Packaging

All wooden packaging materials — crates, pallets, and dunnage — are fumigated and stamped in compliance with International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15. Required for most international ports and ensures your container clears biosecurity inspections without delay.

Registered Export Entity

CV Patra Surya Gentala is a fully registered Indonesian legal entity, licensed for export by the Ministry of Trade. We issue valid Commercial Invoices, Certificates of Origin (Form D, Form E, and general CO), and Phytosanitary Certificates from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture.

"The custom OEM process at Apta Living is genuinely impressive. I sent sketches, they sent back a 3D render within 2 days, we tweaked it twice, and the final product matched the render exactly. This is rare in this industry."

Laura Becker

Principal Designer · LB Interiors, Berlin
"EUDR documentation was completely handled without me having to chase anything. That alone saved us weeks on the import side. For European buyers, this is a massive advantage over most Indonesian factories."
